Design Standard Analysis
Essential Fabrication Bundle
Your manufacturing file bundle should comprehensively include all essential design layers. This encompasses copper traces, silkscreens, solder masks, mechanical outlines, and any specialized paste, carbon, or peel-off layers.
Export Formats: Ensure all layout files are exported in the modern Gerber RS274-X standard, alongside Excellon-1 or Excellon-2 drill files that feature an embedded tool list. Please refrain from utilizing the deprecated RS274-D format.
What to Omit: It is important to exclude native CAD project files, bill of materials (BOM), or generic office documents unless specifically requested for PCBA.
Final Verification Checks
Always verify your exported Gerbers using an independent desktop viewer to catch rendering errors prior to submission. Additionally, strict adherence to a 1:1 scale is required. Maintain consistent offset coordinates (preferably zero) and use uniform units across all layers.
Industry standard dictates viewing the board from a top-down perspective. Therefore, top-side text must appear highly readable, while any bottom-layer silkscreen or copper text must be exported in a mirrored format.
